I create rather than produce, loving all aspects of furniture at Henry Valentine – from the initial idea to designing, crafting and delivering to happy people. It’s so much fun and a pleasure to go to work every day.

Creating something unique that makes people happy delights me – I love the idea of taking a piece of timber and giving it new life, something to last for years.

In a different life, I received a degree and became a lecturer managing departments in an education setting. Then we had children and life changed forever. I wanted to start over to provide a future for my family with a flexible work-life balance. I now get to see my children more, although seem to work for longer – and harder than ever!
